Amongst our best sellers, Calatheas are loved as houseplants for their attractive leaf colours and patterns and their adaptability to indoor environments. The Calathea Lancifolia's botanic name is Goeppertia insignis and it's part of the popular Marantaceae family, also known as prayer plants.

As a tropical plant, Calatheas thrive best when provided with conditions similar to their native rainforests. It prefers medium to bright indirect light, moist soil at all times and frequent misting to increase humidity.

Calatheas are also known as Prayer Plants due to the fact that their leaves stay in an upright position during the day and then fold up like praying hands at night.
